Khara Bolton has consistently been a servant leader in her community devoted to areas such as education, physical and mental health, women's health, mentorship and STEM-initiatives. All of this has been in addition to the work she does every day as a professional. Her life's work is not complete unless it involves a way for her to pay it forward. Read on to learn more about her.

Early LifeKhara was born and raised in Ypsilanti, MI and grew up in a very supportive environment where she was able to thrive academically and athletically.

Undergraduate and Graduate WorkShe pursued her undergraduate education in Atlanta, Georgia, where she was a member of the Dual Degree Engineering Program and earned a B.S. in General Science (Mathematics Minor) from Spelman College and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Professional Career and PMPAfter starting her professional career in engineering at Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing, NA, she later moved to Chicago and earned her M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University. After earning her Project Management Professional (PMP) credential in 2017, she is currently a Resource Development Manager at Health Care Service Corporation (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois).

Community Work, Advocacy, and Fitness"Khara has always had a heart for serving her community in different capacities. She is very passionate about Education as well as Physical and Mental Health initiatives, which has led her to work with organizations such as: Rape Victim Advocates - now known as Resilience (Medical Advocacy) Run This Town Chicago (Fitness Ambassador) Revive the Dream (Educational Leadership Cohort Member) Delta Literacy Project (Math/Reading Tutor) NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Ladies of Virtue (served as Mentor and Director of Mentor Transition for the past 9 years)

Family Life and MotherhoodKhara is a proud wife of Bryson Bolton - an accomplished Sensory Scientist and public speaker, new mother to Kaya-Brielle, an aunt to her niece Breana and two nephews (Braeden and Douglas), and a lifelong mentor to Kalice and Mia.
